As an account executive at IBM, Mike led a team of 60 resources providing procurement services to external clients. His team performed strategic sourcing, regional buying, order processing, and call center support for 7,000 employees across 30+ countries. For a consumer industry client, he delivered annual savings of $21M and processed 4,500 orders per month (99% processed within 2 days). For an IT industry client, Mike delivered $58M of savings over five years and reduced order processing time by 84%. For both clients, Mike led transformations to a central procurement process on a common IT platform (one client on Oracle and the other on SAP).
In addition, Mike helped IBM re-engineer its sales and operations planning process. Mike led the supplier planning transformation by first consolidating requirements across multiple plants and then obtaining real-time supplier commitments. This enabled supply-based commitments to IBM’s customers. Mike co-authored five supply chain patents for this work.
Earlier in his career, Mike was the supply chain and production control manager for an IBM microelectronics plant in Fishkill, NY. His team drove a 10-point improvement to 99% on-time delivery.
